Busy Mama Breakfast

Simplifying my life while living well has been at the forefront of my mind lately as time is something that there never seems to be enough of, however when one settles for convenience for the sake of time there is always a trade-off.

The mornings are always rushed and I really don’t take the time to sit and eat. I do make sure I have my coffee and read, and have my prayer time… and on the ideal morning I work out. But once my daughter is awake it’s all about helping her prepare for the day, serving her breakfast and making sure she starts her day on a positive note. That being said, my breakfast takes a back seat, and I’d rather not trade my healthy vibe for the day for that quick donut… or even the flat bread or protein bar that have been marketed to be healthy but it reality is oozing GMO’s, pesticides, and artificial hormones… Yuck. Not for me… Or you… Or anyone!

And so we come to the solution- the “fab mama” breakfast shake. I will say that my Nutra Bullet has been a game changer. I stuff it at night time and throw some ice or frozen fruit in the morning with the milk of your choice, blend it up & run out the door sipping all the way! Saves time, money, minimal cleanup, and still provides the nutrition factor. Bam!

Here’s the recipe I’ve been using lately:

Handful of baby spinach (you will hardly taste it, if at all)

1 cup of blueberries

1/2 cup pineapple

1/2 avocado

1 cup of almond milk

1/2 cup of water

Frozen mango chunks
1 Scoop of plant based cookies and cream protein
